Policies and Procedures
-
Monthly tuition covers either 4 or 8 sessions per month, as agreed. Make-up sessions can be arranged in one of two ways:
Rescheduling within available time slots.
Extending scheduled sessions by 15-30 minutes to make up missed time.
To reschedule an assessment or tutoring session, please notify us by 2:00 pm during the school year or 12:00 pm during the summer on the scheduled day. Missed sessions without proper notice will be charged at the full rate. Lightbulb Learning Center may reschedule missed sessions at its discretion but does not offer refunds.
A 10-minute grace period is granted for both in-person and virtual sessions. Fall and Spring cohorts last 16-18 weeks, and any canceled sessions must be rescheduled within the designated cohort. Late arrivals will result in a shortened session with no fee adjustment.
Students are allowed two make-up sessions per cohort; additional make-ups are at the discretion of Lightbulb Learning Center.
-
Fees are calculated based on the scheduled times, and no adjustments will be made for time lost due to late arrival. Students arriving late will receive tutoring for the remaining scheduled session time, with prolonged sessions at the discretion of Lightbulb Learning Center.
-
Students arriving more than 10 minutes late are considered no-shows. In the case of a no-show, the student remains responsible for the session payment, and no discounts or refunds will be provided. No-shows include missing a session without prior notification via phone call, text, or email.
-
In the event of inclement weather—such as snow, sleet, hail, flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, or severe thunderstorms—the decision to hold the lesson in person or move it online will be made collaboratively by the client/student and the tutor. Any sessions canceled due to weather will be rescheduled in accordance with our attendance and cancellation policy.
-
At Lightbulb Learning Center, we maintain a strict No Refund Policy for all services. Refund requests will not be granted, regardless of the reason or the notice given. If you cancel services after payment and provide a 30-day notice, we will complete the remaining sessions, with cancellation taking effect the following month. Exceptions may be considered in cases of serious illness or the death of an immediate family member, with official documentation required.
-
Late, rescheduled, or declined payments, including declined automatic payments, are subject to a $25 late fee. Two or more late payments may result in service cancellation, as tutoring slots per cohort are limited. Accounts that remain overdue for more than two weeks may lose their spot to a wait-listed student.
-
This tutoring agreement allows either party to terminate or modify the agreement with a written notice of thirty (30) days.
Upon cancellation of services, your remaining paid sessions will be scheduled. However, any missed or canceled sessions during this period will be forfeited and will not be rescheduled or owed. Make-up sessions are at the discretion of the Senior Office Manager and subject to availability.
Cancellation Policy:
A 30-day notice is required in writing via email to cancel services.
If services are canceled without proper notice, all remaining sessions will be canceled without a refund.
If services are canceled with proper notice, rescheduling of remaining sessions is not permitted.
-
A returning student is defined as one who continues in a consecutive cohort following a summer cohort and/or has completed the Spring, Summer, and Fall Cohorts consecutively.
Returning students are not charged a new diagnostic assessment fee for the upcoming Fall Cohort.
